HELLO FROM THE STUDY SHACK
At The Study Shack, we take helping students prepare for exams seriously. GCSE and A-Level students sitting exams this summer will have not sat a formal examination for almost 5 years. Using proven revision techniques, our aim is to support students to become independent with their revision strategy in the run-up to the exam period, whilst also giving them focussed techniques to support their mental health.
We want to ensure that all students who use our service receive value for money and feel supported at this crucial time in their life.
TUTORING SERVICES
At The Study Shack we have a range of services which you can book to support your child. As we grow we will be bringing more services on board
1:1 PRIVATE TUITION (£30PH)
As your child works their way through their revision strategy they may come across problems which might need solving. Connecting with us and specifying your problem will allow a specialist to offer advice and support where needed. This service will be 75 minutes in total.
The first 15 minutes will be a call to understand your needs.
The next 1 hour tutoring session will be scheduled at a time convenient to both you and the tutor.
6 WEEK PRE-RECORDED TUITION (£65)
Upon purchasing this course you will receive 6 pre-recorded videos to help support you with revision at home. Each lesson will look at a different meta-cognition skill to allow students to apply said strategies to any subject they may be studying at the time.
The videos will be made available to you download and use at your convenience. You will also get the option to take advantage of one free online drop-in session to ask any questions in a live environment and also join a private Facebook group for the remainder of the academic year for ongoing support with specialised tutors
6 * WEEKLY FACE TO FACE SESSIONS (£99)
This intervention program has been designed to support your child with their revision preparations in the run-up to their end of Key Stage exams. The sessions are following proven techniques to aid memory retention and support independent revision.
Each tutor session will be 90 minutes in duration and will consist of 3 parts:
Part 1 - Introduction to Memory/Revision Technique
Part 2 - Applying technique/s to a chosen subject
Part 3 - Mental Health support with targetted meditation
Every student who enrols on this intervention will be given access to a private Facebook group

ABOUT US
The Study Shack was founded during the pandemic to help students navigate the remote learning world. In over 2 years, The Study Shack has grown to offer a range of services that are designed to support students in becoming independent in their own learning journey. This includes the understanding of how learning can be maximised to aid efficiency.
The Study Shack is supported by an ex-teacher with 18 years of teaching experience of which 12 of them were as a senior leader. Using a blended approach of active learning and pre-recorded material we hope to give all students an experience that allows them to feel in control of their own revision strategy. The Study Shack staff want to ensure that we are building lifelong learning habits in all of our learners.
